Training

After reluctantly taking over the Aquaculture and Aquaponics training in September 2020, it immediately became a pleasurable experience and a new found passion.  Even with so many years of experience one realizes how much more there is to learn and nights were spent studying more about this exciting field.  Drawing on others expertise and testing the theory in our system became a daily event.  The material that was drafted over so many years by Leslie backed by the science, inputs from other farmers and the always willing to listen and give advice from Dr Gillian Taylor has formed us to where we are now.

Not to say we have it all, over the next few months we will be concentrating on new and exciting subjects, on what the industry is experiencing and what we and our partner farmers have learnt and the successes.

Then in September 2021 we boldly, formally took over Aquaculture Innovations and Aquaponic Innovations.

                                            What a new experience!

It always seems easier than what it looks like from the outside and we had to learn the ropes as fast as we could trying to do this seamlessly.  Tying up relationships with manufacturers and suppliers worldwide was in fact one of the easiest tasks that we had to deal with.  With a strong base, history and a good relationship with Leslie spanning many years there were no, No,s and all contracts were passed over to us.

It needs saying that although this is a small market worldwide the good name created for Aquaculture Innovations over the years speaks volumes.

One deems an online shop as something that just happens, look at all the large entities where you can order just about anything.  The truth of the matter is there is someone on the other side who needs to get things done very fast.  Orders placed for a range of products are to be gathered either by taking them from existing stock (almost impossible to keep all the items and quantities) and then ordering any outstanding items. Collating the order, packaging it, weighing and sizing and then booking the courier is a satisfying job because you know the client on the other side wants it now.

Sometimes this takes a bit longer and the sleepless nights creep in, pondering on how did Leslie and Annelise do it so fast, or that was my experience when I was buying from them.
Well at last we have covered all the bases and are now concentrating on adding new products and getting to sit down and do the letters again.

It is with sadness that we have been informed that the Lab manufacturing the Aquaspawn in South Arica did not make it through the COVID pressures and we have had to find an alternative. 

Original Qvaprim, although more expensive and it comes in 10 ml vials we were able to secure the supply and the first batch will be landing in South Africa in the first week of February.

Ovaprim’s price is unfortunately linked to quantities that are imported per shipment, pricing can thus drastically improve if orders are placed up-front. We need to place an order for 300 Vials which will then closely match the price of Aquaspawn.

New Horisons

Our training is ongoing and evolving with new subjects being added such as the Dissection of fish, viewing this under a microscope with a large monitor giving delegates a better view.

Our newly developed Elevator theory on nutrient uptake in plants will be presented on our next Aquaponics course.

The updated Lecture facility where we can demonstrate so many of the concepts has taken leaps and bounds.

Finally we would like to firstly thank Leslie for the opportunity and trust that he has put in us and You our clients, we are always available to take you calls and mails and hope we can cement the relationship as you did in the past.
